The laying of our company's foundation stone dates all the way back to the Imperial Era. In 1893, the steelwork company "Steffens & Nölle AG" began its operations in Berlin. The company made a name for itself here in quite a special way too - through the erection of the radio tower in 1926. As one of the city's landmarks, this structure attracts people from all over the world.

The story continues eventfully in the seventies of the previous century. In 1972, Preussag AG takes over the company Steffens & Nölle, who, being now their subsidiary, consequently looses its juridical autonomy. Four years later – meanwhile the company is called Turmbau Steffens & Nölle – it is acquired by Peiner Maschinenwerke AG. The amalgamation with Salzgitter Maschinen- und Anlagen AG follows, and then the acquisition from Preussag Noell GmbH / Babcock AG.

With the growth of the mobile communications sector, Turmbau Steffens & Nölle widened its lines of business too. Starting in 1990, the company plans and builds antenna supporting structures and installations for the major mobile communications providers T-Mobile, E-Plus, O2 and Vodafone D2.
Another important step in the development of the company takes place in 1996: Hein, Lehmann Funkbau GmbH joins Turmbau Steffens & Nölle.

Since October 2004, our company has been a subsidiary of INDUS Holding AG from Bergisch Gladbach. Ten years later, in 2014, TOMCAST GmbH from Essenbach joins Turmbau Steffens & Nölle GmbH.
